World-Class teachers from Argentina, an unbelievable venue, a phenomenal live tango band, and exciting DJs were all features of the 2016 Louisville Tango Festival. 


Junior and Guadalupe are internationally respected performers, teachers, and choreographers. Their dance biographies include performances with Julio Iglesias, Daniel Barenboim, Juan Carlos Copes, and many others, and they have performed on Broadway, famous stages in Buenos Aires, and in concert halls the world over. Alicia and Luis reside and teach in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but also travel to Europe and the US for teaching and exhibitions. They are known for the passion they bring to the dance. Learn more

Daniela & Hernan were part of the exclusive staff of La Viruta (the most famous milonga in Buenos Aires), working together with some of the most well known "Maestros". During the last years, they have developed their own unique style, which expresses their joy, appreciation, and true love for the tango. Learn more

Christy and Andy started Louisville's Argentine Tango Society over 15 years ago, and the local tango community continues to thrive, not only at Blair's Ballroom, but throughout Louisville's dance studios and venues. Andy and Christy are both accomplished teachers with years of accolades, awards, and a studio of championship dance students. Learn more

Juliana is well known to the Louisville tango community where she has exposed tango lovers to the fascinating rhythms and movements found in Argentine Folklore Dance. Learn more


This former home of the Lincoln Bank & Trust Company was constructed in the late 1920s in the style of the Italian Renaissance with French motifs and art moderne detailing. ​The quartet explores tango recordings, manuscripts, and publications by tango masters such as, Juan D’Arienzo, Carlos Di Sarli, Osvaldo Pugliese, among others, embracing the styles and performance of the tango tradition. Learn more

Known as one of the premier tango DJs in the US, Rodrigo has been featured at events across the country. He brings his energy and finesse to the Festival for our nightly milongas. Learn more

Born in Buenos Aires amongst great deejays and dancers, he learned to replicate the Buenos Aires feeling in his milongas. He is becoming one of the highest rated deejays in North America. Learn more

  • ​Felicia Cole, DJ

Felicia is an up-and-coming DJ on the Louisville dance scene. Her speciality is blending the distinctive sound of modern tango with more adventurous styles to create something wholly unique. She will be hosting the Sunday Nuevo & Fusion Milonga.
